It is not possible to increase the pressure in a household enough to increase the efficiency of an RO system.  It is also impractical to ask a homeowner to check the RO membranes on a daily basis for wear and tear.

So, while RO may be well suited for industrial applications, it is not the best choice for the private homeowner.  Here’s another question.
